Hello,
If the CMOS battery was dead it would not be saving date and time either. When it does not work typically it is from the firewall/router blocking the request or the dvr needs to be updated. If it was working and it just stopped I would do a full default on the unit and set back up. Test it. If that does not work try the same on the router.
